Our family
of IgP d’Oc wines
The Pays d’Oc IGP grape variety wines began to be used in 1987 at the desire of the Languedoc-Roussillon winegrowers, to innovate by producing on the same terroir, AOC wines subject to assembly rules and Vin de Pays (becoming IGP) authorising more freedom of assembly thanks to a pallet of 58 grape varieties.
Previously called Vin de Pays d’OC, this wine, labelled IGP since 2009, belongs to the region in France which produces the most “Country Wines”. The vineyard, between mountains, valleys and oceans, with very diverse soils, covers more than half of the Languedoc wine production.
The Pays Minervois, the Massif des Corbières, the Roussillon region, the Camargue, the Rhône valley, have become very popular tourist regions, thanks to their castles, forests, garrigues and mountains as well as a Mediterranean climate, which tourists love. The Pays d’OC region represents more than 60% of the French “Country Wine” production, with 5.3 million hectolitres produced in 2009.
Between the Cevennes mountains, the Languedoc plain and the Massif des Corbières, it is the limestone-clay, schist and stony sand soils which give the varied and complex aromas.
Carignan, Cinsault, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Petit Verdot are present in the Southern part of the region, supplemented by Provençal varieties vinified traditionally. These are easy drinking wines, whose very fruity aromas pay respect to a fabulous, ancient country. The rosés and whites promote the values of sharing and savoir-faire with a reasoned and specialised choice of varieties, in particular the Gris de Gris Rosé.
The wines benefiting from the Geographically Protected label “Pays d’Oc” are produced with a maximum limited yield per hectare:
- 90 hectolitres for red and white wines
- 100 hectolitres for rosé, gris and gris de gris wines
WHITE100% CHARDONNAY
Intense bouquet of white flowers, hazelnuts with buttery notes. Exuberant and succulent on the palate, rich with a persistent mineral finish.
Suggestions: appetiser, Mediterranean vegetables.
ROSÉ 100% SYRAH
Sparkling bouquet with delicate aromas of little red berries and guava, accompanied by floral notes. Full bodied, round and fresh on the palate.
Suggestions: white and grilled meats, cold-meats.
RED 100% MERLOT
Well ripened red fruit bouquet. Crunchy, fruity and robust on the palette.
Suggestions: roast or grilled meats.
RED 100% MARSELAN
This wine has a purple color and many pronounced reflections. This delicious nose of red fruits with hints of spice characterizes the Marselan of our terroir.
Suggestions: This concentrated wine will go perfectly with red meats and your dishes with sauces.
